About AI Detector

AI Detector checks whether a photo may have been made by artificial intelligence. Import an image from Photos, Files, or your camera and you get a 0-100% confidence score with a green, yellow, or red verdict in under three seconds.

The app runs on iPhone and iPad (iOS 15.1 or later) and on Android. The free web checker runs the same analysis in a browser with no account.

How the detection works

Image generators leave statistical traces in the pixels they produce. The detector looks for those traces, which are hard to spot by eye, so it can flag images that look clean at a glance.

A score is a probability, not proof. A high score means the image shares traits with generated images. It does not prove someone generated it. Compression, screenshots, editing, and new generators can all shift the result. We list those limits in Do AI Image Detectors Actually Work?

How we handle your images

Analysis happens in memory. We do not store your images, write them to logs, or use them to train anything. When a check finishes, the image is discarded. Recent results stay in a private history on your own device.

How we write our guides

The guides come from testing the tools we write about and reading the primary sources: the C2PA Content Credentials standard, generator documentation, and published detection research. We name the limits of each method, including ours. When a visual check can be wrong, or a detector score is uncertain, we say so.
